Beautify Chula Vista

Volunteers Join Forces to Beautify Chula Vista!

Thanks to all of the enthusiastic volunteers who lent their support to make the 6th Annual Beautify Chula Vista Day a great success! Over 500 community members were out in full force on Saturday October 4th cleaning up Chula Vista by picking up trash, painting out graffiti, stenciling storm drains, and planting trees. BCVD volunteers had a busy morning, as they were able to collect over 1,200 pounds of debris, stencil 88 storm drains, plant 32 trees, and paint out 1,061 square feet of graffiti!

This year, volunteers were treated to breakfast provided by Starbuck's and Souplantation. After the cleanup, all participants came back to Otay Park for a BBQ thanks to Albertson's, Pat & Oscar's, and King's Fish House. We thank all of the volunteers and sponsors for their support of this year's beautification event.

Beautify Chula Vista Day is coordinated jointly by I Love A Clean San Diego and the City of Chula Vista. Stay tuned for more information about this year's results, and to find out the date for the 2009 event!
